I’ve just started a brand new sketchbook after filling my last one up. I always feel the pressure to make the first page’s drawing look good. Psychologically I think it will effect the rest of it, that is until I’m about 4 pages in and then it becomes very clear that it has no bearing on anything. Here’s what I drew on the first page of this one.

I was in the middle of drawing background elements for an animation I’m working on, which these objects form a part.

Here is a mini animation scanned straight from my sketchbook and put together in Photoshop and After Effects. I’m doing a collection of these which I’ll then put together to make a collage type animation. It’s a little experiment in hand drawn traditional animation and sound design.

Here is an image of some new characters I’ve been working on. I’m developing a few of them to full colour which I’ll post tomorrow.

This is a new sketchbook drawing of some creepy (yet melancholy) insects. I might work them up into full colour characters sometime soon.
