Handymartian
Friday, October 2nd, 2009
The use of music has always been an important part of my animations. On a number of occasions I’ve been able to create the sound effects and music myself and I always do this under the pseudonym of Handymartian. I also like to make my own music just for the pleasure of making songs. These are uploaded to the Handymartian Myspace and eventually I’d like to finish this and maybe put some EP’s or something up there.
Anyway, I’ve just finished a new song that I’m pretty proud of called “Last Forecast”. You can listen to it here or hopefully on the audio player below.
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
Guy Garvey

As today is the Mercury Music Awards I thought I’d post a link to the radio show from the lead singer of last year’s winners, Elbow. Every Sunday night on BBC 6 Music Guy Garvey presents his ‘Finest Hour’ show. He has introduced me to some great music over the past year or two including The Acorn, Bon Iver and The Leisure Society.
Click the image above for Guy Garvey’s 6 Music web page. From here you can listen again on the BBC’s iPlayer to the latest show.
Pitchfork's View Of 2000-09 In Music
Thursday, August 27th, 2009Over at Pitchfork they have started to compile their end of the decade lists of best albums and best tracks (the tracks are up now, albums are coming up later in the year). This is accompanied by a series of articles about various aspects of music in this decade. It’s worth a look even if it is just to violently disagree with their chosen top 100 lists.
